I am a researcher at the IFAPA Center Agua del Pino of the Andalusian Institute for Education and Research on Food, Agriculture and Fishery (IFAPA). I worker in demersal and benthic fisheries stock assessment between 1989 and 1992. From 1993 onwards my scientific work has been focused on searching new bivalve species for hatchery aquaculture, including restoration purposes. From 2003 to 2009, I have also been involved in several projects under the Interreg program related to shellfish fisheries, which aimed to: i) minimize the impacts of different dredges on benthic communities and ii) restore estuarine benthic resources. In the ambit of the Water Framework Directive, I'm also participating in a project that aims to assess the quality estuaries based on benthic indicators.
