Dissertation in 2001: "Optimal Valuation and Management of Fishing Resources under Sole owner and Common Property Regulation". She worked for three years (2000-2003) in the Department of Applied Economics, Faculty of Economics and Business Administration, University of Vigo, Spain, where she also participated in the "Natural Resources-Fisheries" research unit, directed by Professor M.M. Varela, having been involved in several EU funded projects (Fishery Regulation and Economic Responses of Fishermen: perceptions and compliance (EU-004-00); Data on Economic Performance of the Fisheries Sector (EU-033-01)). She has worked since 2004 in the marine research division of AZTI in the area of socio-economic fisheries working on several projects, some of then: European Lifestyles and Marine Ecosystems (ELME); Creation of Multiannual Management Plans for Commitment (COMMIT)); Operational Evaluation Tools for Fisheries Management Options (EFIMAS); Valoración de los activos naturales de España (VANE); Manejo Sostenible de la Pesca Marina en el Istmo. Centroamericano con especial énfasis en las especies objetivo de la pesca deportiva; Comparative Evaluations of Innovative Solutions in European Fisheries Management (CEVIS); Observatorio Científico de Pesquerías Artesanales (OCIPESCA). Actually, she is involved in the following projects, among others: Mitigating Adverse Ecological impacts of open ocean fisheries (MADE); Desarrollo sostenible de las pesquerías artesanales del Arco Atlántico (PRESPO), and she also takes part in a fishing research group at the Basque Country University directed by M.C. Gallastegi Zulaica.
