Curriculum

I am an assistant professor at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto (FEUP). In 1995, I completed a first degree in Industrial Engineering and Management at FEUP (Portugal). I undertook a PhD in Industrial and Business Studies at Warwick Business School, in the United Kingdom. After completing my PhD in 1999, I have been working as a professor in FEUP. My main research area is Operational Research/Management Science, with focus on efficiency and productivity measurement techniques. Currently I am pro-director of the Industrial Engineering and Management Master, and pro-director of the Doctoral Program in Industrial Engineering and Management at FEUP. I am author of 13 papers in peer-review ISI journals, in the management science field. I am involved in research projects in the following areas: banking, fisheries, education, transportation, retailing, construction industry, and urban quality of life.
